Southern Pulled Pork Sandwiches
A Southern-style Pulled Pork BBQ Sandwich, easy to make in the oven or slow cooker

Ingredients
  • 2.5-5lbs. kilos Pork Shoulder(1-2 kilos)
  • Spice Rub: This will coat up to 10 lbs. Pork Shoulder – mixa resealable mason jar and sprinkle on the meat to coat
  • 1/4cup Paprika
  • 1/8cup Fresh Ground Black Pepper
  • 1-2tablespoons Garlic Powder
  • 1-2tablespoons Onion Powder
  • 1tablespoon or more Cayenne Pepper
  • 1/4cup Coarse Salt
  • 1/4cup Brown or White Sugar
Instructions
  1. Season your pork with the spice rub, being sure to rub the spices onto all parts of the meat.
  2. Place the meat in a Ziplock bag or a covered container and marinate in the fridge 8-12 hours or overnight.
  3. Preheat your oven to 150C/300F. (Or use your slow cooker set to low)
  4. Place your pork shoulder in a deep heavy pot with a tight fitting lid, or in a roasting pan tightly covered in foil (if using very thin foil, double wrap it).
  5. Cook your Pork for 6-7 hours. It should shred very easily with a fork.
  6. Let cool for a while, until easy enough to handle.
  7. Shred the meat with two forks, and place into a large bowl.

  9. Pile onto toasted hamburger buns and serve with coleslaw
